Spring in Our Little Corner of NJ: A Bucket List

Spring in New Jersey always keeps us on our toes - this week alone we’ve had sunshine, thunderstorms, and even a little snow. It’s that strange in-between where one day you’re bundled up and the next you’re debating whether it’s too early to switch to iced coffee full-time.

But underneath all of it, Spring is slowly, but surely, blooming. The cherry blossoms are lining the streets, farmer’s markets are re-opening, and longer days are starting to feel like the norm again. So in the spirit of not letting this short, sweet season pass us by, I’ve put together our official Spring Bucket List.

It’s local, it’s low-lift, and it’s packed with the little things that make Spring feel special - aka everything we’re doing before the humidity hits, lol! Let me know which ones you get to check off before Summer!

☕ Grab an iced strawberry matcha or carrot cake latte from Crew!

It’s the unofficial drink of the season - and if you take it to-go and stroll past blooming magnolia trees, it’s basically therapy.

🛍️ Stroll the Summit Farmers Market on a Sunday morning

Counting down the days until April 27th! Pick up fresh produce, flowers, or just a pastry and a moment of peace.

🌸 Order yourself (or a friend) fresh blooms from Burrow & Birch or your favorite flower shop

Daffodils now, peonies soon. A tiny bouquet in your kitchen changes the whole mood.

🍸 Indulge in a patio cocktail

Patio drinks are a spring non-negotiable. Bring a jacket and order the Aperol spritz. Our favorites are Stone House (Warren), Fauborg (Montclair), and Stirling Tavern (Morristown).

🍦 Get a classic ice cream cone from Magic Fountain

Tastes better outside. Tastes even better if it’s a cookie monster with extra sprinkles.

🌿 Add a little life to your outdoor space - we are frequent flyers of The Farm at Green Village!

Who doesn’t want to come home to beautiful flowers and planters?

🧺 Picnic at Reeves-Reed Arboretum

Pack snacks, grab a blanket, and enjoy the daffodil bowl. Nothing fancy required. Just take a bunch of pics!

🏖️ Take a day trip to the shore before the Summer crowds hit

The best shore days are in April and May - when it’s quiet, breezy, and blissful. Stop into one of my favorite bookstores of all time - The Little Point Bookshop. If you find yourself in Normandy then go for sushi at Blue and get the Amazing Roll & the Tuna Delight (drooling)

🍳 Try a new brunch spot

Some of my go-to’s: Zeugma (Montclair) - get the whole menu, South + Pine (Morristown) - get the chicken & waffles, or The Huntley Taverne (Summit) - get the crème bruleé waffles.

Spring in New Jersey may be unpredictable, but it’s also my fav - especially if you slow down long enough to enjoy it. Whether it’s a post-work walk with a coffee, a fresh bouquet on your table, or a spontaneous beach day before Summer hits... the moments that feel small now are often the ones you remember later.

So here’s your permission slip to take it all in. I’ll be doing the same. 🌸✨
