Celebrating Love Your Pet Day: Our Favorite Local Spots for Pampering Your Pup!

If there’s one thing we love more than houses, it’s our pets - especially when it comes to spoiling them! Love Your Pet Day is the perfect excuse to celebrate our furry friends and treat them to a little extra TLC.

As a proud dog mom to my little Lola, I’ve had plenty of experience finding the best places to keep her happy, healthy, and spoiled! These recommendations are my personal go-to’s for grooming, treats, toys, and adventures - each one has been Lola-approved (and she’s picky, trust me). If you’re looking for ways to treat your furry friend, these spots are absolutely worth checking out!

1. Best Dog Groomer: TNT Dog Grooming

Keeping your pup looking and feeling their best is no small task, which is why we’re so happy we found TNT. Whether it’s a full grooming session or just a quick wash, their team is incredibly gentle, professional, and thorough. Plus, their grooming packages are tailored to fit your dog’s specific needs - so you know they’re in great hands.

Location: 110 Park Ave, Summit, NJ 079011

2. Best Spot for Toys: Faux Paws x L&B Pet Markets

Lola is definitely a toy enthusiast, and Faux Paws in Summit has the absolute cutest selection. From squeaky toys to plushies, they’ve got something for every pup’s personality. Plus, they carry fun, high-quality options that hold up (even to Lola’s wild zoomies). (Her favorite are the designer bag plush toys - the only plush toys she won’t destroy, lol!)

Location: 318 Springfield Ave, Summit, NJ 07901

3. Best Treats: Betty Cakes Barkery Bites

Nothing says “I love you” like a batch of Betty Cakes Barkery Bites! Based in Millburn, this small business creates delicious, dog-friendly treats that are almost too cute to give to your pup to eat (almost). You can shop their treats online or find them at local pop-up shops - everything from seasonal goodies to birthday cakes is made with love and healthy ingredients.

Location: Shop Online

4. Best Place for an Outdoor Adventure: Deserted Village in Watchung Reservation

For a unique outdoor adventure, the Deserted Village in the Watchung Reservation is one of our favorite places to explore with Lola. It’s a fascinating historic site tucked away, with trails that wind through scenic wooded areas and past old buildings full of history. Lola loves sniffing around and taking in all the new sights, and it’s a fun, peaceful way to spend some time outside together any time of year.

Location: 9 Cataract Hollow Rd, Berkeley Heights, NJ 07922
