Hibiscus Margarita!
Wait... we thought it was National Margarita Day every day!? 😅 Kidding (sort of...)🍹
Decided to throw together this Hibiscus 🌺 marg to celebrate and o.m.g it is going into our regular rotation! 🤤 One of the best margaritas we’ve ever had!
I adapted this recipe from The Minimalist Baker, and put my own spin on it!
INGREDIENTS:
Hibiscus Tea Concentrate:
3/4 cup Kusmi loose hibiscus tea
3 cups boiling water
1/4 cup agave nectar
1/4 cup cane sugar
For the margarita:
2.5 oz fresh squeezed lime juice
2 oz silver tequila
1 oz triple sec
1/2 oz agave nectar
1/2 cup hibiscus tea concentrate
STEPS:
Hibiscus Tea Concentrate:
Steep loose hibiscus tea in the boiling water for 30 min
Strain and add agave and cane sugar
Stir until dissolved and chill
For the margarita:
Rim your glass with salt (visit our blog for hibiscus salt recipe) and fill with ice (I used a singular large ice mold)
In shaker with ice - add lime juice, tequila, agave, triple sec, and hibiscus concentrate
Shake well, strain over ice and enjoy!
Want to make your own hibiscus salt? It’s easy!
Put a 1/4 cup of your loose hibiscus tea & 1/4 cup cane sugar into a coffee grinder. Grind only a couple of seconds so it doesn’t all turn to powder (learned that the hard way). Then, go ahead and add salt to taste! Voila!
